PANJIM: Panjim Gymkhana won by 7 wickets against Bogda Cricket Club in the final of the GCA B Division tournament, at Goa Cricket Academy ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
Bogda Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat. They were bundled out for 148 in 31.4 overs. Bogda opened with Damodar Redkar and Siva Nutatpath. Damodar scored 31 off 37 balls before he was sent back to the pavilion by Vidyadar. Siva was run out after scoring just 10 off 16 balls. Sahil Naik fell short of 9 runs to score a half century after he was dismissed by Heramb Parab.
The Panjim bowler put up a formidable performance as they managed to restrict their opponenets from reaching a decent score. Salil Agharkar scalped 4 wickets while Heramb Parab managed to pick up 3 wickets.
In reply, Panjim Gymkhana chased down the target in 25.2 overs. Openers Rajat Shet(35) and Vishwajeet Phadte(36) laid down the foundation for the innings which was then completed by Vidhyadar(49) and Sanket Bhuye(20) who remained unbeaten.
The Bogda bowlers failed to fin wickets at regular intervals which cost them heavily as Siva Natatpath and Deelip T managed to pick up wickets.
