Panjim Gymkhana win by 126 runs

Sanket scores a century to help the winning team set up final clash with Bogda Cricket Club

PANJIM: Panjim Gymkhana won by 126 runs against Bicholim Cricket Club in the GCA (B Division) North Goa final at the Goa Cricket Academy, Porvorim, on Monday. 
Panjim Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat. They posted a total of 239 for 6 in 36 overs. 
Rajat Shet and Vishawajeet Phadte opened the batting for Panjim Gymkhana. 
However, they suffered an early setback as Rajat was sent back to the pavilion for just 7 runs. 
Vishawajeet went on to score his half century before he was bowled out by Purohit for 59 off 76 balls. Sanket Bhaye went on to score a century which gave his side a formidable total to defend. 
The Bicholim bowlers put in a decent effort as Kashinath Chari scalped 2 wickets while Abhilash Semwal, Gaurish Gawas and Shivprasad Purohit picked a wicket each.
 In reply, Bicholim Cricket Club were bundled out for 113 in 29.5 overs.Opener Piyush Sohane was the top scorer of the innings wih 38 runs off 45 balls while Rakikesh Pednekar scored 22 runs. 
The Panjim bowlers put up a stellar performance which restricted their opponents reaching the required target. 
Salil Agharkar scalped 4 wickets while Shishik Divkar, Vidhyadhar Kamat and Krishna Usgaonkar picked up 2 wickets each.
Panjim Gymkhana will now face Bogda Cricket Club in the State final on April 25.
