Panjim SC register 43-run win over Curchorem SC; Hungama SC advance

PANAJI: Panjim Sports Club defeated Curchorem Sports Club by 43 runs to move ahead in the Albert Developers Sports Clubs first Season Ball Cricket Tournament played at Sports Authority of Goa ground, in Panjim, on Tuesday.

PANAJI: Panjim Sports Club defeated Curchorem Sports Club by 43 runs to move ahead in the Albert Developers Sports Clubs first Season Ball Cricket Tournament played at Sports Authority of Goa ground, in Panjim, on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first Panjim SC scored a total of 174 runs in 20 overs, with Mayuresh Chari (50), Ilyaas Naroo (39) and Buddadev Mangaldas (20) scoring the highest for the side.
In reply, Curchorem SC with the help of Sagar Gosawi (45), Sanjay Naik (27) and Saiesh Desai managed to score only a total of 131 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.
The Panjim side bowled well as Sachin Bukkam, Tushar Narvekar and Prajesh Naik picked two wickets each to get their side through to the next round.
The Man-of-the-Match was awarded to Mayuresh Chari of Panjim SC for his applaudable performance.
In another match, Hungama Sports Club Marcel scored a huge 82-run victory over Nityanand Sports Club Ponda.
Nityanand SC won the toss and elected to field but were hit for 215 runs in 20 overs.
Sarvesh Gaude (63), Sushant Govekar (46) and Vikas Desai (58) were the top scorers for Hungama SC.
In reply, Nityanand SC were restricted to to 133 runs in 18.3 overs.
Hungama SC bowlers did a commendable job as Satendra Turi picked 3 wickets and Sushant Govekar picked two.
Man-of-the-Match was awarded to Hungama SC’s Sarvesh Gaude.
