PANJIM: When a few greying football veterans of the seventies met on Dussehra day in October 2018 they decided on a reunion of players and officials of Panvel SC teams, none imagined what a chase it would turn out to be.
It’s been 45 years since Panvel Sports Club rose to fame with an astonishing display winning the Bandodkar Gold Cup in 1974 and the club members will be observing their anniversary today by holding a reunion of the former players and members of the club after getting in touch via various modern means which helped them connect dots.
“Panvel may have been a team without sufficient jerseys for all substitute players, but the experience most of us gained was immeasurable. Nostalgic memories will be relived this Saturday. At this point of time in our lives, we don’t know if and when we will meet next but during the period it existed Panvel gave us many thrills,” expressed Antonio Botelho former secretary of Panvel SC.
