Parents should imbibe good values to children along with cricket: Kirmani

PANJIM: Former India wicketkeeper and Padmashree S.M.H. Kirmani said that the parents should imbibe good values, academics along with cricket so that the cricketer who emerges from the camp shapes into perfection.

He was speaking at the valedictory function organised by Margao Cricket Academy (MCA) celebrating their silver jubilee year of organising coaching camps. The BCCI ‘Life Time Award Winner’ Kirmani was invited to award certificates to 140 students, who went through a 21-day annual coaching camp. 
As part of the celebration, Kirmani, at 66, played in a 20 overs cricket match against Press XI, at Fatorda, enthralling the crowd with his batting and spectacular wicket keeping. Showmik Angle compered while Advait Katkar proposed the vote of thanks. Also present on the occasion were MP South Goa Narendra Sawaikar and Director of Sports V.M. Prabhudesai.
