BENAULIM: Parish Youth Nuvem thrashed Varca SC 5-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 4th St Sebastian trophy football tournament, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Thursday.
Parish Youth Nuvem started the match on the upbeat mode with Jerose Oliveira connecting the ball to Neves Noronha inside the Varca SC box but squandered the goal scoring opportunity by blindly shooting the ball into the rival goalkeeper hands in the 2nd minute.
Varca SC through Leo Martins solo carpet drive in the 7th minute should have earned a fruitful dividend in the 9th minute but Godfrey Mascarenhas of Nuvem foiled his move.
Jose Colaco opened the account for Parish Youth Nuvem in the 18th minute, within seven minutes Jerose Olieveira doubled the lead while Inacio Colaco made it 3-0 in the 31st minute.
Gammy Costa scored a brace in the 45th and 60th minute to take the tally 5-0 for Parish Youth Nuvem.
