BENAULIM: Parish Youth Nuvem thrashed St Sebastian UC, Benaulim 4-1 to enter the quarter-finals of the Cana-Benaulim Panchayat Cup organised by St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, on Wednesday.
Nuvem’s Joel Fernandes missed a sitter in the first minute as the latter shot blindly over the Benaulim crossbar.
Five minutes later, Nuvem’s Jerose Oliveira’s header travelled a foot wide from the Benaulim goal post.
Thereafter, it was Jerose Oliveira who tapped the ball inside Benaulim net off Myron Borges’ connect to open the account for Nuvem in the 21st minute.
Within four minutes, Nuvem increased the lead through Myron Borges’ placement shot.
As the match progressed in the 35th minute, Shubert Colaco netted the third for Nuvem.
After the break, Benaulim defended well and pulled a goal back through Kenneth Fernandes’ header in the 46th minute.
As the match was about to end, midfielder Stephen Colaco made it 4-1 for Nuvem.
Parish Youth Nuvem will now meet CDJ Ribandar in the quarter-finals on June 10.
