Parteek, Anar clinch badminton titles

PANJIM: Parteek Mahajan and Anar Singbal emerged winners at the 6th All Goa Major Ranking badminton tournament, organised by Mormugao Badminton Club, in men’s and women’s singles categories respectively, held at Deepvihar School, Headland-Sada, recently.

PANJIM: Parteek Mahajan and Anar Singbal emerged winners at the 6th All Goa Major Ranking badminton tournament, organised by Mormugao Badminton Club, in men’s and women’s singles categories respectively, held at Deepvihar School, Headland-Sada, recently.
The event was held in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association.
In men’s doubles, Floyd Araujo and Pankaj Naik beat top seeds Tejan Fallary and Parteek Mahajan to clinch the title. 
Tejan Fallary and Emilia Silveira won the mixed doubles to make it 2 in a row this season.  Sandip Kanji and Kapil Kanji triumphed in the men’s 40+ category while the men’s 50+ title was won by Vaman Fallary and Wilson D’ Souza. 
In Mormugao taluka U17 category event, Ronit Ranjan beat Ashutosh Mhalsekar to emerge boys winner while the girls title was won by Niharika Tiwari who beat Priyamwada Maurya in the final. 
Vinayaka Rao, FA and CAO, MPT, Vipin Menoth, traffic manager, MPT, Sandeep Heble, GBA secretary and Mormugao Badminton club officials Sanjay Banaulikar, Milind Dessai, Deelip Halarnkar and Laxmikant Kenaudekar graced the prize distribution function.
