CALANGUTE: Parteek Mahajan from Panjim clinched the singles title while the duo of T Krishna and Freddy from Porvorim claimed the doubles title at the 5th all-Goa Badminton tournament, organized by Sai Parra Cricketers Sports and Cultural Association, at Sai Anant Court, Lobo Vaddo, Parra, recently.
In the final, Parteek Mahajan got the better of Navneet Nanodkar while T. Krishna and Freddy accounted for Parteek and Nilesh.
In the PVC under-13 category, Dev Agaria beat Rutik Kudav while in the PVC women event Mahima Harmalkar prevailed over Shradha Parsekar. Somesh Parsekar outgunned Ashwin Aroskar in the PVC men final.
In the veterans double final, Roy and Manoj from Mapusa accounted for Oscar and Leonard from Margao. In the mixed doubles, Parteek Mahajan and Shilpa defeated T Krishna and Vrushali from Porvorim.
The Sarpanch of Parra, Delilah Lobo and ex-Deputy Sarpanch Josephine Fernandes gave away the trophies to the winners in the presence of Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Franky Viegas, Kamla Nigudkar and Pradeep Morajkar.
