Parvatibai Chowgule College, Goa Medical College win

PANJIM: Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao, won by 6 wickets against Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Cricket Men Championship played at Goa University Cricket ground, Taleigao Plateau, on Tuesday.

The Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first innings, Narayan Zantye College of Commerce scored 87 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 15.1 overs. Raj Pandit 47(38), Sanat Raikar 3/16, Siddharth Honnavarkar 2/11.

In the second innings, Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science scored 88 runs losing 4 wickets in 11.2 overs. Devankumar Chittem 27 (13) not out, Vismay Bandekar 24 (31) and Sahil Naik 2/22.

Best performances – Bowler Sanat Raikar 3/16 of Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science. Batter Devankumar Chittem 27(13) not out of Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science.

In the second match of the day, Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim defeated St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, by 11 runs.

Goa Medical College and Hospital won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 177 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs in the first innings. Arsh Sardesai 126 (73) not out, Harsh Swar 26 (27), Vedant Chandekar 2/26.

In the second innings, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, managed to score 167 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Vikas Naik 41(23), Tejas Naik 30 (29), Tanish Prabhudesai 2/29 and Yatish Pakanati 2/19.

Best performances – Batter Arsh Sardesai 126 (73) not out of Goa Medical College and Hospital. Bowler – Tanish Prabhudesai 2/29 of Goa Medical College and Hospital.
