MARGAO: A second half strike by Patric Lima enabled Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem overcome Curtorim Gymkhana 1-0 to enter the quarter-finals of all-Goa Bro Eulalio Vas memorial inter-village football tournament, organized by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Friday.
There was no score at lemon time.
In an evenly poised battle, both the teams played attacking game, as a result there were few thrills at either end. Both had equal number of opportunities.
Changing over, Guardian Angel put up a better display and their forwards showed upped the ante and in the 40th minute striker Patric Lima volley crashed into the net. Down by 0-1, Curtorim Gymkhana went all out but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
