MARGAO: Navelim Sporting Club edged past Cortalim Villagers 4-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-final of the All-Goa Lourdes Festival Soccer, organized by United Club of Utorda, at Utorda ground, recently.
Cortalim Villagers drew first blood in the ninth minute through Clinton Fernandes. Navelim Sporting geared up equalized through Sandy Colaco in the 15th minute.
Post resumption, the teams tried hard to score the match-winner but failed.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Navelim Sporting scored through Anil Shivolker, Aldrin Coelho, Sandy Colaco and Bittu Singh while Maglisten Paes and Johnson Rodrigues netted for Cortalim Villagers.
In another semi-final match, Pax of Nagoa hammered host UC Utorda 5-1. UC Utorda dominated the first half with ample of scoring opportunities but were left frustrated by the heroics of the rival goalkeeper.
