MARGAO: PCCE College, Verna emerged as winners by defeating Salgoankar Law College 2-1 in the inter-collegiate badminton tournament organsied by the Department of Physical Education & Sports of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, recently.
A total of 11 colleges participated in the tournament from different parts of Goa.
The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5000, trophy, medal and certificate while the runners-up were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 3000, trophy, medals and certificate. Best player of the tournament was awarded to Krishnank Fallary of PCCE College.
The chief guest Adhesh Karwarkar gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Sudhakar Naik, Rajdeep Dessai, Vikram Verlekar (Chairman of Sports Council of Vidya Vikas Mandal), Principal Dr. Prita Mallya, Vice Principal Dr. Sanjay Sawant Desai, Member of sports Council Nirmala Gopinathan and College Director of Physical Education and Sports Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar and other dignitaries.
