PEDDA-BENAULIM: Pedda Boys, Benaulim rode their luck to oust St Jude Strikers, Betalbatim 4-3 via the tie- breaker to enter into the final of the 1st all Goa UK /US Boys U-14 trophy soccer tournament organised by Mix Friends Benaulim, at Xembu Moll ground, Benaulim, on Friday.
The first session belonged to Betalbatim lads with skipper Joel D’Silva outstanding but his good work was spoiled by the strikers upfront with inept shooting.
Pedda improved after the restart with captain Royal and Tohid in fine form.
Betalbatim keeper Adrian Fernandes made double saves in quick succession to deny Sidroy and Tohid.
In the dying minutes, Jovel made a goal-line save heading out Meagan Fernandes’ goal bound shot.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Pedda Boys proved to be better shooters.
