Perpetual Succour CHS struggle before entering semis

DAMON-RAIA: Perpetual Succour Convent High School Navelim defeated Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School Cortalim 6-5 via the tie-breaker and moved into the semi-finals of the Fr Peter SVD memorial football tournament, organised by SVD Mission Seminary in association with SVD Friends Association at SVD Seminary ground, Damon-Raia on Monday. 
The Navelim School striker Ashley Fernandes netted the first with a brilliant power-packed shot in the 20th minute off a Mayfeen Rebello assist.
Later in the 23rd minute, the Cortalim School striker Valencio Vaz missed the target by whiskers. However, Velroy Dias made it all-square for Cortalim off a Valencio Vaz assist in the 25th minute.
At the other end, Navelim keeper brought up a stunning save to deny Cortalim’s Jayson.
The scores were tied 1-1 at the regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Perpetual Succour Convent High School Navelim netted through Ian Colaco, Macklon Piexito, Joel Dias, Claren Fernandes and Valen Vaz.
For Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School Cortalim, Ashlon Vaz, Akash Singh and Krunal Naik were on target.
OL Perpetual Soccour HS, Cortalim’s Krunal Naik bagged the Man-of-the-Match award.
