CHINCHINIM: Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim, beat Bethany Convent HS, Sao Jose de Areal 4-2 via the tie-breaker and moved to the semi-final of the U-17 St Joseph Vaz soccer tournament, organised by Mount Mary’s High School Chinchinim, at Our Lady of Hope church, Chinchinim, on Friday.
Bethany Convent HS opened the score-line through Sam Moura in the 15th minute but Flanoy Gomes equalised in the last minute for Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim.
In the tie-breaker, Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim netted through Anslam Vaz, Fravino Pires and Joshua Correia while Sam Moura scored for Bethany Convent HS, Sao Jose de Areal.
In another match, Our Lady of Health HS, Cuncolim beat St Thomas HS, Cansaulim, 4-2 via the tie-breaker. The full time score was 0-0.
In the tie-breaker, Our Lady of Health HS, Cuncolim scored through Nash Fernandes, Sharmad Kurade, Ziban Shaikh and Warren Dias while Preston Colaco and Rio Rodrigues found the net for St Thomas HS, Cansaulim.
In another match, Mount Mary HS, Chinchinim beat Assmpta Convent HS, Sarzora, 3-1. Mount Mary scored through Om Raju Raikar in the ninth minute. Sohil shaikh scored in the 14th minute for Mount Mary’s HS and in the 20th minute Assumpta convent scored through Joshua Leitao.
In another match, Rosary HS, Navelim, downed St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor 3-1. Rosary scored through Ajay Talwar in the fourth and11th minutes while Deryl Rebello found the net in the 15th minute.
St Joseph pulled a goal back through Irun Ailurio in the 16th minute.
