PANJIM: PES’s SRSN College of Arts and Science, Farmagudi, won the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Women Championship 2023-24 outsmarting Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim by a score of 59-45 at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Taleigao Plateau, recently.
In the semis-finals, PES’s SRSN College of Arts and Science outplayed Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona, by a score of 17-14. Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim, by a score of 49-28. The Best Player award was awarded to Alisha Akarkar of PES’s SRSN College of Arts and Science. In total, 12 women’s teams participated.
Chief guest Dr Amavel Murty, Medical Officer, Goa University, along with Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University presented the medals and trophies to the winners and runners-ups. PES’s SRSN College of Arts and Science team: Alisha Akarkar, Sahili Naik, Janavi Madkaikar, Aniksha Velip, Swati Naik, Yutika Satarkar, Isha Gaude, Rutvika Bandodka, Panchami Bhat, Taniya Naik, Shiya Shet and Indu Gaunkar.
