MAPUSA: Pilerne Sports Club staged a remarkable comeback to hold PVC Parra 2 -2 to split points in the GFA Professional league played at Duler Stadium, on Saturday.
Parra got the opening goal in the 11th minute when Veron`s long ball in the danger box was not dealt by Siddhant and Stanley and the ball rolled to Ghanashyam who slotted the ball into the net to open their account.
Parra had a great chance to double their lead minutes later but, Ghanashayam could not give finishing touch to a perfect cross delivered by Veron.
Changing ends, Pilerne kept pressurising and nearly found the equaliser in the 53rd minute but substitute Royston Pereira’s vicious 40-yard free-kick was brilliantly kept out for a corner by the diving Parra keeper Waldren.
Just when Pilerne looked threatening, Parra got their second goal through Ghanashayam to make it 2-0.
Pilerne finally managed to get one goal back in the 72nd minute through Prakash Rathod who on receiving a pass from his teammate got past a couple of defenders and beat the keeper with a neat placement.
Parra were left stunned as Pilerne got the precious equaliser in the 83rd minute through a bullet header from Prakash Rathod to complete a remarkable comeback.
Meanwhile in another match at Agassaim ground, FC Mardol scored a fluent 3-1 win over Sateri SC.
Sateri SC were first to take the lead in the 10th minute through Aniket Adkonkar, however, Shubham Naik restored parity just before the breather to make it 1-1 for FC Mardol. In the second half, Mardol scored two goals through Vaibhav Naik and Atish Phadte to win comfortably 3-1.
