SIOLIM: Pilerne Sports Club defeated Candolim 5-3 via the tie-breaker and moved to the semi-finals of the St Anthony’s Rolling Cup 2022, organised by St Anthony’s Sports, Marna-Siolim and assisted by Country Cousins Events and Entertainment in memory of Vinayak and Vilasini Fulari, St Anthony’s Church ground, on Monday.
Candolim scored to take the lead through Madhav Naik when Joel Fernandes crossed into the box for an easy tap into the Pilerne SC goal. Minutes before the close of the first half, Ansen Pereira equalised for Pilerne Sports Club.
In the second half, neither of the teams were able to score and were locked on 1-1 at regulation time.
In the resultant tie breaker, Lincon, Sameer, Hudson, Anron scored for Pilerne Sports Club while for Candolim Sports Club found the net through Sidhant and Mahadev.
