Pilerne SC, FC Goa score big wins

MAPUSA: Pilerne Sports Club had an easy outing as they drubbed Benfica Youth Club by 9-1 margin in the GFA’s Division II Play-Off match played at PVC Parra ground.

 Pilerne Sports Club colts that had drawn their last league encounter against FC Goa came strongly into Sunday’s match where they went into the breather with 5-0 margin.

Sanket Pal netted a hat-trick, with Sandesh Kaulekar (2), Chandan Govenkar (2), Aniket Agarwadekar and Dharshan Pujari adding their names to the scorer’s list. 

Benfica Youth Club tried their best to make inroads into the Pilerne Sports Club citadel but could not penetrate the defence area most of the time.

 In the next match played at Guirim ground, FC Goa also came strongly to humble UB Ambaulim by 6-0 margin.

 Cain Fernandes scored a brace in each session of play for Young Gaurs, while Wesley D’Sa and Brandon Pereira scored from the penalty spot. 

Callum Fernandes and Shawn Fernandes added their names to the scorer’s list on entering the 18-yard box.
