PANJIM: The issue of releasing pending grants and funds for the preparatory camp for the 37th National Games was discussed by a delegation consisting of representatives from Goa Olympic Association and State Sports Associations under the leadership of President, Goa Olympic Association, Shripad Naik with Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, here, Thursday.
The representatives expressed their concerns regarding the pending grants of the associations and emphasized the need for their immediate release. They emphasized that these grants are crucial for supporting sports activities particularly in preparation for the upcoming National Games.
The delegation requested financial support for the preparatory camp for the Games. They explained the urgency of securing adequate funds for training, procurement of equipment, and overall preparation to ensure optimal performance at the Games.
Dr. Pramod announced that the pending grants of the associations would be immediately disbursed, and 50% of the funds required for the preparatory camp for the Games would be directly transferred to the respective Associations’ accounts by next week.
Dr. Sawant also stated that the remaining funds would be released upon the submission of accounts detailing the utilization of the initial disbursement. This measure aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilization of funds.
Dr. Pramod urged all Associations and athletes to make the most of the support provided and to strive for excellence.
