Social Welfare Minister Sudin Dhavlikar said that Goa has plenty of sports talent and to give an opportunity to this talent, sports events should be conducted in the rural areas.
Dhavlikar was speaking informally after starting work to construct a wall at the sports ground in Kundaim yesterday.
The proposed project, he said, would be completed in seven phases at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh.
Speaking further, Dhavlikar disclosed that the government is planning to construct a full-fledged ground on the acquired 15,000 square metres of land at Kundaim.
He also told sarpanch Raju Phadte to shortlist the development works required in the area.
