Ponda, Holy Cross, Silly Boys, Gaunem in quarters

PANJIM,(HSD)Ponda Footballers, Holy Cross Ponda, Silly Boys of Shiroda and Gaunem Youth Association entered the quarter-finals of Ponda Taluka football tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Mardol, at Mardol.
In the first match, Ponda Footballers defeated Sarvesh XI Marcel 3-0. Franky, Jovito and Peter scored for the winners.
In the second match, Holy Cross Ponda scored a solitary goal win over Extreme Boys of Karai Shiroda. The all-important goal came through the boots of Manuel.
In third match, Silly Boys of Shiroda edged past Sharpshooters of Khandola 2-1. Vivi scored a brilliant brace for the winners while Sunil Jafroj could reduce the margin for Sharpshooters.
In the last match of the day, Gaunem Youth Association downed United Youth Organisation of Tonca Madkai by a lone goal scored by Sudesh Gad through a superb header.
