Ponda, Sanguem, Dharbandora, emerge winners at 1st Goa State Netball C’ship

PONDA: Sanguem won the traditional men’s netball final when they beat Pernem 47-42.Aakash Gaikwad was awarded the best shooter, Shrikant Jadhav was awarded the best defender and Pranav Pomane was awarded the best player. In the women’s traditional final Ponda beat Tiswadi 24-17.  Tiya Tari was awarded the best shooter, Sanika Wagh was awarded the best defender and Snehita Bandekar was awarded the best player. 

In the fast 5 men’s netball final score, Ponda beat Dharbandora 26-20.  Sanmay Bandekar was awarded the best shooter, Tushar Popale was awarded the best defender and Yash Naik was awarded the best player. 

And in the Fast 5 women’s finals, Darbandora beat Tiswadi 28-27. Sharayu Jagtap was awarded the best shooter, Sejal Netalkar was awarded the best defender and Neetal Haldankar was awarded the best player.

The closing ceremony of the Goa State Netball Championship Netball & Fast 5 (men & women) took place at Ponda Sports Complex Indoor Stadium on September 7. Siddhesh Shripad Naik, President, North Goa Zilla Panchayat was the chief guest for the function and Hari Om Kaushik, Chairman, Netball Development Committee, NFI was the guest of honour. Shubham Narvekar, President GNA welcomed all the guests and dignitaries. All the winners were awarded with trophies, medals and certificates.  Pratish Naik, Secretary GNA proposed the vote of thanks.
