PANJIM: The Ponda Taluka Chess Association felicitated chess players from Ponda Taluka for their excellent performance at the Taluka, State level and FIDE rating chess tournaments at Hotel Pan Aroma, recently.
The players were Devesh Naik, Avani Sawaikar, Sarthak Naik, Avnish Borker, Riddhi Gaude and Swayam Sandesh Naik.
Chief guest Mahesh Candolkar, president, Goa Chess Association, felicitated the players.
The chief guest appreciated the efforts of Ponda Taluka Chess Association for conducting many chess activities and congratulated the felicitated players.
Archana Tendulkar, treasurer, Ponda Taluka Chess Association was also present. Avnish Borker was felicitated by SRS Vedic Maths Academy for achievement of FIDE rating in standard format.
Earlier, Sagar Sakordekar, president, Ponda Taluka Chess Association welcomed and introduced the chief guest. Amogh Namshiker, secretary, Ponda Taluka Chess Association, presented an activity report and the players’ performance.
Pankaj Chavan, EC member, Ponda Taluka Chess Association, proposed the vote of thanks.
Sandesh Naik, Jaywant Hammanavar, Wilson Cruz, Anand Kurtikar, Naresh Gaunekar and Radha Sakordekar took active part in conducting the function.
