MARGAO: Ponda Veterans prevailed over Quepem Veterans 4-3 via tiebreaker to storm into the semi-finals of 2nd All-Goa Navelim Veterans football tournament organized by Navelim Veterans at Rosary church ground, Navelim on Wednesday.
Both the teams were locked goalless at full time.
Both teams started the game on a catious note, as the match progressed both teams showed urgency but failed to score due to inept shooting by their forwards.
Crossing over, both the teams adopted an aggressive approach and raided each others citadel without success.
In the penalty shoot out, Domingos Fernandes, Rafiq Bepari, Pradip Sawant and Rosario Carvalho converted for Ponda Veterans while Jerry Fernandes, Floriano and Jose Rebello scored for Quepem Veterans.
