CURCHOREM: Pope John XXIII High School from Quepem won the Quepem Taluka U-17 Subroto Mukherjee football girls tournament after defeating Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem Paroda 1-0 at Guardian Angel school ground, Curchorem on Wednesday.
Both the teams showed urgency and after a barren half, in the 35th minute, Rivency Joaquim Dias collected a loose ball and took a powerful shot which hit the crossbar and went in, which helped the Pope John team to win the match.
