The teams started brightly but failed to convert from the numerous opportunities they created in the initial stages of the match as their strikers lacked sharpness in front of the goal.
After a barren first session, the only goal of the match came in the 40th minute for Portais Sporting Club when Orlando D’Souza covered a few yards and sent a pinpoint cross to Prabir Soren, who on weaving his way past the El-Shaddai defenders placed the ball into the goal past the outstretched hands of the keeper.
