PERNEM: Mount Carmel HS, Arambol, defeated St Joseph HS, Pernem, 1-0 in the final of the Boys U-14 Pernem Taluka Subroto Mukherjee football tournament organised by DSYA at Mandrem ground on Thursday.
Mount Carmel dominated the first half but failed to find the net. After the interval, St Joseph went close but couldn’t break the deadlock.
Further chances fell at either end but the decisive goal arrived just four minutes from time when Mount Carmel’s Poulwine Fernandes scored following a tricky move.
