PANJIM: Football has always been studded with the stars giving the sport that extra fillip. Goa’s Prajal Shet is no different who is making waves at quite a young age.
Prajal’s love for ‘The Beautiful Game’ began way back in January 2014 when the Goa Football Development Council’s (GFDC) Poira centre waas established.
Schooling at the Mae de Deus High School, Corjuem, Aldona, Prajal is one of the regulars to train in the under-10 age group under the watchful eyes of coach James.
“Prajal started training with us in January 2014. He is fresh with ideas and always showed keen interest in learning new skills. Now he has developed into a promising footballer with a bright future ahead,” informed coach James.
Prajal’s hard work has not gone unnoticed. In the recently concluded GFDC Vodafone Rising Star football tournament, the youngsters showed great promise. He went on to score four important goals for GFDC Poira centre which took them to the quarter-finals. However, GFDC Poira centre went down fighting to GFDC Arambol centre.
“Prajal is very hard working and never misses practices. His father drops and picks him up regularly. He must stay focused as he has a bright future ahead of him,” stated James.
It remains to be seen if this budding star gets noticed and makes his way to the big league in future.
