KOLKATA: Prayag United were held to a goalless draw at home against HAL Bangalore at Yuba Bharati Krinangan, here, Saturday. The draw would put a serious dent on their chances of finishing near the top of the table.
In a match that lacked any bite only Josimar Da Silva Martins and Yusif Yakubu came close both once each in the first half, but failed to provide any breakthrough in the second half as both teams had to settle for a goalless draw.
Prayag United coach Sanjoy Sen, will be disappointed that his team could not capitalise on an easier opponent at home while HAL will go home the happier of the two sides.
The draw means Prayag United have 22 points from 14 matches.
Meanwhile, HAL picked up only their 3rd draw of the current I-League campaign to take them to 3 points from 14 matches and they remain at the rock bottom on the table.
Denson Devdas of Prayag United was adjudged man-of-the-match.
