PANJIM: Progress High School, Sanquelim registered a comfortable 10 wicket victory over St Rita High School, Colvale, to enter the final of Germania inter-school cricket tournament, organized by Panjim Gymkhana, at Panjim Gymkhana ground, on Friday.
In the first semi-final, St Rita won the toss and elected to bat, posting 84 runs in 19.1 overs. Vithal Gawas (20) and Piyush Yadav (13) were the notable scorers. Jai Gaokar picked up two wickets while Vithal Petkar, Bablo Gawas, Rishikesh Kamat, Sahil Parwar and Uddesh Parab secured a wicket each.
Progress HS chased the score in 15.2 overs with a 54 not out from Tukaram Naik, who was ably helped by Rishab Naik’s 18 not out.
