MAPUSA: Parish Youth Sports Club Vagator made it to the final of the XI Reira Soccer Cup with a solitary goal win over Assonora United Football Club, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, played at Saligao grounds, on Tuesday.
Parish Youth Vagator will now meet Calangute Association in the final, slated for February 23.
The only goal of the match happened in the 8th minute of play when Rama sent a pinpoint pass to overlapping Samuel D’Souza who seeing the keeper off his line, lobbed the ball into the empty goal, 1-0.
Parish Youth Vagator had their chances to double the lead but their strikers just couldn’t keep their composure infront of the Assonora United goal.
Thereon the Assonora colts tried their level best to get back into the match, but the much needed goal eluded them till the very end.
