VARCA: Quepem Veterans blanked Navelim Veterans 3-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 1st All Goa Veterans Soccer organised by Texas Boy’s Varca, at Varca football ground, on Tuesday.
Quepem Veterans took the lead in the 23rd minute of the match through Vincent Barbosa.
In the second half, Francis Andrade doubled the lead for Quepem Veterans through a powerful shot giving no chance for Navelim Veterans keeper Sandeep Naik to make it 2-0.
Navelim Veterans mounted lot of pressure but all their efforts were in vain. Just before the final whistle, Remmy Baretto hammered the final nail in the coffin for Quepem Veterans.
Mario Rebello of Navelim Veterans was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
