PANJIM: Govt College Quepem (GCQ) won the double crown, emerging winners in inter- college cross country races for men and women organised by Rosary College, Navelim, in collaboration with Saraswat Vidhyalaya Sridora Caculo College, Mapusa and Athletics Association of Goa, Saturday.
Team championship men: Govt College Quepem -1, Don Bosco College, Panjim- 2, Mallikarjun and Manju Desai College, Canacona -3.
Team championship women: Govt College Quepem – 1, Rosary College, Navelim -2, Mallikarjun and Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona -3.
Govt College Quepem men – Parasharam Ghadi, Milfort Peixote, Sidhant Gaonkar, Shaiesh Gaonkar, Swapnil Raikar, Pravin Gaonkar, Angelo Carvalho. Women – Ankita Gaonkar, Siya Naik, Ankita Velip, Pratiksha Velip, Damini Tate, Chaya Patil, Kirti Gaonkar.
Individual championship men: Santosh M from GMFC Dharbandirda College -1, Parasharam Ghadi from Govt College Quepem -2, Harash from MES College Vasco – 3.
Individual championship women: Ayesha Sores of Rosary College Navelim – 1, Siya Naik of Govt College, Quepem – 2, Ankita Velip of Govt College, Quepem – 3.
Around 100 participants from various colleges took part in the 9km races (men and women). Ulhas Tuekar, MLA, was the chief guest.
