VARCA: Quepem Veterans defeated Marc Veterans 3-1 to enter the final of the 1st All Goa Veterans Soccer, organised by Texas Boys Varca, at Varca football ground, on Friday.
Quepem took the lead in the 20th minute when Antonio Crasto’s cross was deflected into Marc Veterans goal by their defender Jack Crasto netting an own goal.
Vincent Barboza doubled the lead for Quepem in the 27th minute with a powerful shot giving no chance for keeper Salim Bepari of Marc Veterans. In the second half, Marc Veterans’s Robert Fernandes headed in a cross from the left flank to make it 1-2 for Marc. Minutes later, Quepem scored their third when Francis Andrade connected to a Seby Coelho cross. Robert Fernandes of Marc Veterans was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
