RAIA: Quepem Veterans defeated Sao Jose de Areal Veterans 6-4 via the tie-breakee to emerge as champions of the Rosary cup Veterans football tournament, at Davorlim Sports Club ground, on Sunday.
Alvito D’Cunha gave lead to Quepem Veterans which was cancelled by Seby Faleiro for Sao Jose de Areal Veterans. Alvito completed his hat-trick in the second session. Jerry Colaco scored the fourth goal for Quepem. Mario Rebello scored the second goal for Areal Veterans.

In the tie-breaker, Quepem Veterans proved to be better shooters.
Quepem Veterans were awarded Rs 40,000 while Sao Jose de Areal Veterans were awarded Rs 30,000 plus trophies. Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Edwin Cardozo – ZP Navelim, Paresh Naik – ZP Davorlim, Siddharth Dessai, Fr Domingos Noronha, Manoj Dulke and Roy Raikar.
