SALIGAO: Quepem Veterans defeated Varca Veterans 8-7 via tie-breaker to clinch Saligao Veterans Soccer Cup, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, at Saligao ground, recently.
The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time.
It was Varca veterans who surged ahead in the 10th minute through Pele who scored with a neat placement, 1-0.
Quepem Veterans Mahesh Kamble netted the equaliser from outside the penalty box to take the match into the tie breaker.
For Quepem Veterans Remy, Vincent, Agnelo, Adrian, Robin, Francis, Narayan and Camilo scored on target while for Varca Veterans’ Charles, Jose, Vilashah, Prashant, Narisco, Francisco and Romeo scored.
Chief guest GFA’s Vice President Lavino Rebello gave away the prizes.
