BICHOLIM: Radhakrishna High School, Bicholim won the under-17 and 14 inter-school taluka and district level kabaddi championships, organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Peddem ground, Mapusa and Poirem ground, Sattari respectively, recently. The teams have qualified for the State championship.
In the under-14 category, Radhakrishna overpowered Navdurga High School, Pale in the semi-final and Our Lady of Grace High School, Bicholim in the final.
In the under-17 category, Radhakrishna outsmarted Ideal High School, Pilgao and Progress High School, Sakhali in the semi-final and final respectively.
The same team also defeated the Bardez taluka team 53-27, Tiswadi taluka team by 65- 31 and Pernem Taluka team 50-28 points respectively in the District level championship.
In the under-14 and 17 girl’s category, Radhakrishna also secured first and second places respectively in the Taluka level kabbadi championship.
The chairman Vidhyadhar Shirodkar, manager Gopal Morajkar and headmistress Usha Naik have congratulated the winning teams along with PE teacher Raufkhan Pathan, Narayan Marathe and kabbadi coach Nagraj Godekar.
