BETALBATIM: Raia Sporting Club defeated Verna SC 4-2 to move into the quarterfinals of the Late Pacheco Cup, at village panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Monday.
Raia Sporting opened the scoring through Danial Gomes in the 15th minute. Thirteen minutes later, Lloyd Cardozo doubled the lead for Raia. As the match progressed, in the second half, Liston Cardozo fired two more goals for Raia and made it 4-0 in the 48th and 50th minutes respectively.
Joaquim Abranches and Cristo D’Mello netted a goal each for Verna in the 54th and 65th minutes respectively to make it 2-4.
The man-of-the-match award was presented to Lloyd Cardozo of Raia Sporting Club.
