RAIA: Raia Sporting Club edged past Canacona Sports and Cultural Club 5-3 via tie-breaker to enter into the semi-finals of 7th Martin’s Cup football tournament organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club at panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Saturday.
Raia Sporting Club enter the field with renewed ideas and start the match with fast pace and scored the first goal through Swindon Baretto in the 15th minute of play but their joy short-lived as Canacona SCC find the equaliser before half time through Meboubh Hublikar.
In the second session, Swindon Barreto once again put Raia SC ahead in the 40th minute of play but Canacona SCC found the equaliser through Mehoubh. The scored remained 2-2 draw and to decide winner penalty shoot-out was applied.
In the resultant tie-breaker Raia SC proved to be the better shooters.
