NUVEM: Raia Sporting Club defeated SC Davorlim 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 5th Panchyat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Parish Youth Nuvem at Jesus Mary Joseph Church ground, Nuvem, on Thursday.
Joel Colaco of Davorlim missed the best chance of the match in the 23rd minute as Joel’s power drive shot was saved by the Raia keeper.
Later, Raia’s Jhony D’Cruz shot from close range but his shot hit the rival post and went out of play. Davorlim missed yet another chance through Paxton Gomes in the 16th minute.
Raia scored the first goal of the match through Lyod Cardozo in the 25th minute within six minutes Perryson Rebello equalised for Davorlim SC.
Oilex Oliveira netted a brace for Raia in the 46th and 50th minutes respectively to take his team ahead into the round of eight.
Raia sporting club will meet the winners of Parish Youth Nuvem and Cortalim Villagers in the quarter-finals on July 14.
