VAGATOR: Raia Sporting Club thumped Goa Velha Sports Club 4-1 to move into the final of the 22nd Vagator Soccer 2022 organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club ground, Ozran, on Saturday.
In the 13th minute, Raia Sporting took the lead when Eldon Colaco scored from a cross by Velito Cruz.
Two minutes later, Goa Velha gave a positive response as they equalised when the Raia keeper failed to capture the ball while Vikrant Mangveshkar was on target. Raia took the lead for the second time when Velito Cruz assisted with a through ball to goalscorer Eldon Colaco as he completed his brace. In the 26th minute, Velito Cruz chipped a ball over the Goa Velha defense to find Lloyd Cardozo as he scored with a placement shot. Without wasting much time, Raia made it 4-1 when Lloyd Cardozo completed his brace with another assist by Velito Cruz.
On crossing ends, Raia were still hungry for some more, in the 51st minute a cross from the left flank by Joyston Barbosa found Allen Fernandes whose shot hit the woodwork. The Goa Velha keeper Vinesh Shirodkar had to make many saves which helped them narrow down the scoreline.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Eldon Colaco of Raia Sporting Club by Jolan Albuquerque.
