FATORDA: Raia Sporting Club blanked St Rock’s Youth Club, Calata- Majorda 3-0 to cruise into the quarter-finals of All Goa Bro Eulalio Vas inter-village football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda on Monday.
Raia Sporting Club led 1-0 at the breather.
Raia Sporting Club dominated the game right from the word go and pushed their opponents on their back foot.
Persistent forays paid off the dividends when Eldon Colaco fired home from close range.
Stung by that setback, St Rock’s Youth Club upped the ante and fired couple of sorties against the rival citadel but just didn’t pack enough to punch the equaliser.
Post resumption, Raia Sporting Club continued to enjoyed the lion share of exchanges and in the 39th minute Sheeshan Fernandes added his name on the scorer list.
Two minutes later, Sheeshan Fernandes completed his brace.
Raia SC will now meet the winner of DBO Fatorda and Varca SC in the quarter-finals on January 24.
