VAGATOR: Raia Sporting Club defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 22nd Vagator Soccer 2022 organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club Ground, Ozran, on Monday.
In the fourth minute, Nuvem’s Nicolau Colaco’s 30 yard free-kick hit the woodwork while Francis Colaco’s shot was saved on the rebound by the Raia keeper Preston Rego.
At the other end, in the eighth minute, Raia’s Jouston Barbosa’s shot from outside the box dipped over the crossbar. The first half ended without a goal.
On crossing ends, Raia SC took the lead in the 36th minute when Velito Cruz scored on the volley which glanced off the crossbar into the net from a cross from Lloyd Cardozo from the right flank.
The Raia keeper Preston Rego had a busy outing as he denied a half volley shot from Inacio Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem in the 48th minute.
Raia SC were down to 10 men in the 53rd minute when Joy Quadros was shown a second yellow card.
In the 75th minute, Alloid Colaco of Praish Youth Nuvem was shown a direct red card for a rough tackle on Garrison Fernandes of Raia SC. Jouston Barbosa scored the second for Raia SC from the free-kick in the top right corner.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Preston Rego of Raia Sporting Club by Sharon Lobo.
