MARGAO: Raia Sporting Club got the better of Dicarpale Sports Club 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 34th Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup Football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal SC, at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, on Wednesday.
Raia Sporting Club started on an attacking note with Remedious Pango with a brilliant move collected a ball from Seby Oliveira and dribbled two rival but his shot sailed inches over the crossbar.
Subsequently, Raia Sporting Club surged ahead in the fifth minute through Wilfred Gomes’ curling shot of an assist by Remedious Pango.
Thereafter, Dicarpale SC tried to equalize but Joel Furtado’s 22nd minute effort went wide.
Changing over, Dicarpale SC’s Lesley Costa saw his header hit the crosspiece.
