MARGAO: A triple strike by Malcom Gonsalves enabled Raitura Sports Club thrash Youth Club of Manora 9-0 in a Group F of the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division league at Camurlim ground, on Wednesday.
Raitura led 1-0 at the breather.
Raiatura dominated the proceedings and kept their opponents on the back foot for major part of the game. Maxon Andrade broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when he punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
Crossing over, it was a one way traffic as Raitura forwards made merry of the rival defence.
Velencio Fernandes inflated the tally in the 60th minute while Raymond Rodrigues added one in the 68th minute with another coming a couple of minutes later to complete his brace. It was the turn of Malcolm Gonsalves to demolish the fragile rival defence and added his name to the scorer’s list. Maclino Soares put the issue beyond doubt in the 73rd minute. Malcom Gonsalves pumped in two more goals in the 75th and 79th minute to complete his hat trick. In the 89th minute, Clive Miranda drove the last nail into the rival coffin.
In Group A match held at Paroda ground, a fine brace by striker Anil Gaonkar helped Uguem Rising Club to beat Guirdolim Sports Club 2-1. Anil scored a brace in the 42nd minute and 53rd minute while Steven Colaco reduced the margin for Guirdolim.
In Group D match played at DSYA ground, Curtorim Maina Sports Club walloped Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 7-0 after leading 4-0 at half time. The high light of the day was a brilliant hat trick by striker Shamba Kuttkar. Schubert Rebello, Jameson Noronha, Nicel Pinto and Edwin Sequeira were the other scorers.
In Group C at Rosary ground, Navelim, St Sebastian Sports Club, Aquem blanked Enfermos Sports Club, Sinquetim 3-0, leading 2-0 at half time.
St Sebastian held the upper hand on the match with Cajetan Dias put his team into the lead in the 8th minute while Donald Fernandes increased the tally in the 17th minute. Hazlit Fernandes made it 3-0 in the 70th minute.
In Group G at Trinity Ground, Benaulim, Varca Sports Club downed United Club of Benaulim 2-0. All the goals came in the opening sessions. Varca held an upper hand in both the sessions with Jonas D’Costa scoring the lead in the 12th minute, adding another in the 24th minute.
In Group E at Nagoa ground, Cristo Rei Youth Club and USC Seraulim played out 2-2 draw.
