Rajas Chari wins All-Goa Chess

PANJIM: Rajas Chari of Salcete Taluka won the All-Goa Open Rapid Below 1800 chess tournament conducted by Mormugao Taluka Chess Association at Multipurpose Sports Complex Bhutebhat, Baina by scoring 9 points in 9 rounds and remained unbeaten in the tournament.

PANJIM: Rajas Chari of Salcete Taluka won the All-Goa Open Rapid Below 1800 chess tournament conducted by Mormugao Taluka Chess Association at Multipurpose Sports Complex Bhutebhat, Baina by scoring 9 points in 9 rounds and remained unbeaten in the tournament.
Second place went to Gaurav Madkaikar of Ponda Taluka. He scored 7.5 points. 
Third place was bagged by Shane Braganca of Tiswadi Taluka. He scored 7 points.
Other prize winners from are: 4th-Karmalkar Deeptesh, 5th-Barath M, 6th-Swera Ana Braganca, 7th-Fadte Rudresh, 8th-Sawant Tatvesh Ramdas, 9th Kambli Datta, 10th Vaskar Rajat Raghoba, 11th-Thorat Aishwarya, 12th Madhavan G, 13th Brendan Peroz, 14th Riddhi Zantye, 15th Bhimappa Harijan.
Category Prizes:  U-7: Ruturaj Desai, Srilaxmi Kamat, Arush Pandey and Varada Naik; U-9:  Vernon Colaso, Tanvi Hadkonkar, Utkarsh Ganpule and Sahil Desai; U-11: Vraj Porob, Vrunda Naik, Advait Dhavlikar and Ananya Pandey; U-13: Anirudh Parsekar, Faiziya Khan and Shvesh Naik.
There were 35 rated players out of 98 participants from all over Goa. 
Jayant Jadhav, Director of Tourism was the chief guest, Vasudev Hadkonkar, District Registrar North was the Guest of Honour. 
Also present for the prize distribution were Kishor Bandekar, Joint secretary AICF and Secretary GCA, Ramdas Sawant, Treasurer GCA, Anil Patil, Vasant Naik, Secretary MTCA Achut Naik Jt. Secretary of MTCA, GCA coach Swapnil Hoble, Adv Anita Thorat, Treasurer MTCA, Ajay Thorat EC Member of MTCA and Arvind Mhamal, Chief Arbiter.
