MARGAO: Adv. Raju D. Mangueshkar was elected unopposed as the president of Taekwondo Association of Goa for 2018-2022 at the elections held at the PJN Stadium conference hall, Fatorda, on Sunday.
Shrikant More was the Returning Officer and conduct ed the election while B M Krishnamurthy from Taekwondo Federation of India was deputed as the Observer on behalf of TFI. Abdul Majid was Observers from Goa Olympic Association while Mahesh Rivonkar from Sports Authority of Goa.
The Returning Officer declared 6 candidates elected unopposed since nominations were filed by only 6 candidates and thereafter the General Body held the elections for other posts as per the procedure laid down by the Returning Officer.
The general body meeting elected the office bearers to take forward the task of Taekwondo Association of Goa for the year 2018-2022.
The newly elected executive committee of TAG include: President- Adv. Raju D. Mangueshkar, Vice President- Prasanna Utagi, Adv. Prakash Borkar, Secretary General- Deepak Mandrekar, Secretary- Mahadev Chavan, Treasurer- Siddharth Shet Narvekar, Executive Member- Gurudatt Angle,Vanita Mahale, Shamal Mangaonkar, Rajan Naik, Tony Da’Costa, Navin Pai Raikar, Sanjay Nadkarni, Oscar Luis, Gurunath Bhosle, Manoj Gaonkar and Aldrin Soares.
The general body discussed the calendar of events for the year 2018-19.
The members also decided that the National Games scheduled in Goa should be the top priority of the Association. Mahesh Rivonkar assured full co- operation of the SAG for the camps of TAG to train a formidable team in Taekwondo to represent the state of Goa at the National Games.
