CURCHOREM: Raju Urad and Ravina Avalkar of Government High School, Valkinim emerged victorious at the inter-school mini marathon race for Sanguem and Quepem talukas, organised by Shree Chandreshwar Bhootnath Higher Secondary School, Ambaulim in the boys and girls categories respectively, recently.
In the boy’s category, Nikhil Malkarnekar of Our Lady of Fatima High School, Rivona and Vales Denzil of Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem came second and third respectively.
Meanwhile in the girl’s category, Sanjana Gaonkar of Government High School, Balli secured the second place while Vaishanvi Satarkar of Government High School, Valkinim came third.
The race was held on the occasion of National Sports Day and Fit India Movement.
The race was flagged off by the former South Goa MP Ramakant Angle in the presence of SAG Athletic Coach Patrick Soares, Principal Swapnesh Naik.
Around 120 students participated in the race which commenced from Ambaulim to Cuncolim Industrial Estate (5 kms).
